The Group
The Chair of Integrative Risk Management and Economics was created in August 2010, resulting from a partnership between ETH Zurich and external page Swiss Re.
The Chair aims at achieving research in the economics of risk management, with a particular interest for approaches that look at various sources of risk with an integrative point of view. It shall emphasize the benefits of considering the interdependence between different risks, and suggest novel approaches to the evaluation and mitigation of risks.
Research developed in the Chair go from theoretical articles on multidimensional risk management, to more specific contributions discussing very concrete issues (savings, portfolio choice, climate policy) or focusing on specific risks, including financial, environmental and demographic risks.
The creation of the Chair of Integrative Risk Management and Economics was subsequent to the willingness of ETH Zurich to establish, in collaboration with industry partners, a broad Risk Center interconnecting academics working on economic, financial, environmental, political, social, biological, technical and operational risks.
The Chair is affiliated to
- the Department of Management Technology and Economics of ETH Zurich,
- the ETH Risk Center and to
- the Center of Economic Research of ETH Zurich.
It has been offered to Antoine Bommier, and we did expand with the recruitment of several Post Doc and Ph.D. students.
